RAF Typhoon FGR4s have operated alongside France's air force in a joint strike on an underground arms cache in Syrian territory operated by the Islamic State group (IS), per a report from the UK's MoD.
The facility, located using reconnaissance, was thought to be housing weapons and explosive materials, the statement said, and was positioned in mountains just to the north of the ancient city of Palmyra in the heart of Syria.
"The RAF jets utilized precision-guided Paveway IV munitions to strike a number of approach shafts leading to the facility... early reports are that the objective was successfully hit," the MoD said.
There was no sign of any harm to civilians in the attack conducted Saturday night and all the aircraft returned safely, the MoD added.
The British jets were assisted by a Voyager tanker plane.
